When does Scioto Gives start and end?

The event takes place on October 19, 2023. You have 12 hours to make your donation between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. EDT. Throughout the 12 hour period, we will post how well the nonprofits are doing on Facebook and Twitter.

I don't see the nonprofit I want to donate to; why?

To participate in Scioto Gives a nonprofit must have an organizational endowment with Scioto Foundation.

What is the minimum amount I can donate?

$5.

Can I write a check instead of giving with a credit card?

Yes. Checks may be accepted in person only during the 12 hour period. Our office is located at 303 Chillicothe Street, Portsmouth, Ohio. Checks received through the mail will not count towards the match amount.

What types of credit cards are accepted?

Only Visa, Master Card, Discover and Debit cards will be accepted. Due to the high fees we can not accept American Express, Diners Club or Credit card gift cards.

Why can't I use my credit card gift card?

Credit card gift cards normally take a 5% processing fee while normal credit cards can take up to a 3% processing fee. Please note that you do not pay the 3% processing fee. For example, if you make a $100 gift to a nonprofit, you receive the full $100 tax write off, but the nonprofit receives $97.

My credit card got declined; what do I do?

Make sure you use the same name and address as your card? If you believe you entered the correct information please contact your credit card company.

How do I know my online transaction is secure?

The Scioto Foundation uses a payment gateway with a complex infrastructure to ensure fast, reliable and secure transaction of all your vital information. We do not store any credit card information.

I didn't get a receipt via email. Why?

The receipt may have been placed in your junk folder. If this is not the case, the email address you provided may have been incorrect. To receive a new receipt please email or call Therese Egbert (740) 354-4612.

Help! I'm having problems with this site. Who can I contact for technical support?

Please contact Toni Dengel at (740) 354-4612.

What will The Foundation do with my contact information?

Once your donation has been processed we will mail you, the organization and those you chose to honor, an acknowledgment letter of your generous gift. The letters sent to the other parties will not have the amount disclosed but only be defined by a level of giving (Friend 1-$99, Patron$100-$999 and so on). If you wish to give anonymously, the other party's letters and publications will list your name as anonymous. Our publications consist of an annual report and newsletters. Every year we publish a report listing the names of those who gave to a fund. Your name(s) will be added to the to the list along with any gift acknowledgments. When the report is ready online, a link will be emailed. We will also notify all donors via email the totals of how much the nonprofit has raised and their match when the list becomes available.

When will I know how much the nonprofit(s) I gave to made? Will I be notified?

Our goal is to post the results on this website, The Scioto Foundation website, facebook and twitter as soon as possible. We will also notify all donors via email when this list is available.
